Victoria Lee – It is with great sadness that we report the passing of ONE Championship prodigy Victoria Lee at the young age of 18.
Victoria’s sister Angela announced the news on Instagram on January 8, stating that the family experienced something “no family should ever have to go through” on December 26, 2022, when Victoria passed away.
The cause of death was not given, but Angela ended her caption with a message to check on loved ones and remind them of their importance.
Victoria, who was known as “The Prodigy” in her early teens, lived up to the hype by winning her first three ONE matches by submission and TKO in 2021.
She had taken all of 2022 off, but was scheduled to return to the ring on January 14 for an atomweight bout against India’s Zena Bano in Thailand.
Victoria’s passing has been met with an outpouring of condolences from the MMA community, with figures such as Demetrious Johnson, Aung La N Sang, Rodtang Jitmuangnon, and Miesha Tate offering their condolences on Angela’s post.
ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong also paid tribute to Victoria, calling her an “extraordinary martial arts prodigy” with a “purest heart of gold and a brilliant mind.” Angela remembered her younger sister as “the best person” she knew, saying Victoria was “perfect in every way” and “the most beautiful girl, inside and out.”
It is clear that Victoria touched the lives of many with her talent, kindness, and inner beauty.
Our thoughts go out to Victoria’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
